Beastie Boys in my Head & a Writing Update

I am chugging along on the first draft of my latest YA Fiction. I'm deeply immersed in the lives of the characters and the world I'm shaping and look forward to seeing where the story goes. Hint. I do know it ends with apple pie.

But I'm struggling with a catchy title should it become a series (yes, it has trilogy potential.) This is unusual because for all of my previous works the title came readily...Alas, I have a few ideas I'm tossing around...but one that keeps popping into my mind and hanging around for a while is the Beastie Boy's song...but divided into thirds, like so.

Fight For. Your Right. To Party.

Yeah it sounded way cooler in my head...Or maybe I'm getting punchy from so much time in my made up world. Oh and it's taken. So there's that. Oh well. Back to my manuscript.

If you write, create, sing, cook, what keeps the fires stoked? Please share!

  1. How cool that your book has trilogy potential. I just finished reading "Birthmarked" by Caragh O'Brien and there was a note at the end of her book saying that she had originally planned to write it as a stand-alone book, but then was approached with the idea of making it a trilogy which caused her to change the ending. I always think little tidbits like that are so interesting. Also, I like your trilogy name and the inspiration - sorry it's taken!

  2. Thanks Rach! I'll check that one out too! :)
